Enema Instructions for Use

  1. Lie on the bed on your left-hand side
  2. Draw the knees up
  3. Remove the black cap off the enema tub
  4. Insert the thin nozzle of the enema tube into the back passage
  5. Squeeze the contents of the enema fully into the back passage
  6. Clench the buttocks for 10 minutes to hold the enema contents in

Ideally you should have the urge to open the bowel within 15 minutes.

DO NOT worry if this doesn't happen as not everyone is affected in the same way. The procedure can still be done.

You should use the enema on the morning of the examination.
